Into the belly of the beast
This is from within the structure of Mean Streak. It is celebrating it’s 20th Anniversary this season. It is a BEAUTIFUL coaster to look at (especially at night) and a lot of fun to ride even tho many bash it for being overly rough (there are far rougher coasters than this). The walkway you’re looking down is but one of the switchbacks of which there are MANY…the queue is massive…it is no longer used as most of the time, this ride is a walk on.
I think one of the appealing things of Mean Streak is that towards the end, you are riding WITHIN the structure and it’s like being in a wooden sarcophagus. It looks great, it smells great and it sounds great.
If you zoom in and look close, you will see a train manoeuvering up the incline to the mid course brake run.The ride is half over at this point.
You get spectacular views of the sunsets if you ride this at dusk. As you’re dispatched and round the bend to the lift hill, the sun setting on the bay is right there on your left…GORGEOUS!
